Risk management could include a back up, recovery procedure and purchasing/providing new stand alone computer service.
Back up
The question is how often back up should be performed? An appropriate balance needs to be fund and factors such as the time to restore files in the case of failure as well as the importance and nature of the data. The POS accounts department usual practice is to back up all system at the close of business each day. If failure occurs in afternoon the work from whole day are not backed up. Would be worthy to consider doing back up twice a day. The first one around lunch time, when system are not in use.
Recovery procedure
Care must be taken in the careful labeling and organization of backup tapes and disks to ensure that no mistake is made. It is important that staff have been trained how to restore data and know exactly what they each have to do. It is necessary to test regularly that the back up has worked.
As data can be lost due to disaster such as fire, it is essential that backup files are kept in separate place from the original files. It is good idea to take back media of site.
Traditional backups have serious limitations for small business:
• Often unreliable, requiring training and staff to run
• Complex, time consuming and difficult to do daily
• Expensive to purchase and maintain
10.2 C Another solution could be using service provided by company such as Backup Direct. The company offers businesses a daily automated, of – site back up service. Data from the business's computer is automatically encrypted and back up after business hours to one of the Backup Direct's t data centre. This excellent, low cost solution for doing back up without effort.
10.1 A Developing IT system by purchasing a new computers
Comfort of work and security from having spare computer in case of failure are should be the argument for purchasing extra one. The computer would have a shared, standby service role. Another one will be used by Bridged Smith to allow her work from home.

9.3. Contingency planning for an electricity supply failure

Failure caused by power cut happened in past and the cost of the event should be calculated. This lasted for almost two days. A standby generator proved to be sufficient to power the whole of the warehouse and office for only three hours.
