Evaluating:
Method
Do you think this method was the best way of carrying out the investigation?
Are there any improvements you could make?
Yes, I do think this method was effective in carrying out my investigation. I was provided with sound results that were able to prove my hypothesis correct. However, as in any experiment, I could have made a number of improvements. It would have made my results far more reliable, had I decided to measure the mass of my Magnesium strip as opposed to their length. I could also have repeated my experiment a number of times and collected an average results, in order to achieve a more accurate outcome.
Results:
Do you think these results were accurate enough? Could they have been improved?
Were there any results that did not fit in with the main pattern? If so, can you explain why?
Yes, I believe that my results were fairly accurate and provided me with the information which I was initially trying to find. The only hiccup in my investigation was the 10°C anomaly which I discovered, proving that a reaction has occurred too quickly in comparison to the other reactions. A number of things could have triggered this; an accidental increase in temperature or inaccurate measuring of Magnesium or acid, for example. I may also have been too slow or too quick in my reaction to the stop clock I was using.
