With capital punishment this chance is not present, there is no second chance and this is something that should be available but with capital punishment this opportunity is eliminated
As can be seen above there are convincing points for both for and against capital punishment and that is why there are countries today that still enforce it and others that abolish it. My personal view of the subject is that it should be enforced with law. However I think that the reasons why someone would be put through capital punishment must be reviewed and changed. I do not think that it should be used as much as is used in certain countries but instead reserved for extreme circumstances, such as when it is highly unlikely that the person can be reintegrated into society and when it is just for them to receive the highest method of punishment such as if someone is convicted of being a; rapist, serial killer, paedophiliac, violent murderer or mentally unstable and cannot help but commit vicious crimes. I believe that in these cases capital punishment should be enforced also because if we look at recent times and cases there are many criminals that commit offences such as these which shakes and stuns the nation due to the severity of their crimes but only receive sentences which are less than someone who committed a lesser offence or they receive life but however in an amount of time that is not as long as life will be back out into society. Criminals such as these should be put through capital punishment to get them out of our lives and also as the number of severe cases seems to be rising would deter future crimes of this nature instead of encouraging it as current law seems to do by not punishing the offenders to the level it should. Another change I would make to capital punishment is that I would reintroduce the guillotine. This is because its not every criminal of a high offence that deserves to be put through the pain of lethal injection of the electric chair but still needs to be removed from society permanently. In these cases I would enforce for a guillotine to be used, as it is a quick and virtually
