mad blood stirring.” Here Benvolio will appear anxious about the idea of fighting with the Capulets and he will be presented as a wise man, because he understands that the heat of the day will not only encourage people to go out but it might also cause their tempers to flare up.
Then the music will stop before Mercutio pulls his M16 angrily and aim at the audience furiously saying “Thou art like one of those fellows that when he enters the confines of a tavern claps me his sword upon the table and says 'God send me no need of thee!' and by the operation of the second cup draws it on the drawer, when indeed there is no need.” And this quote will leave the audience foreshadowing and waiting a fight to happen.
Now while both Mercutio and Benvolio are sitting down facing the left side of the stage the white flood lighting will turn into orange spotlight focusing on the left side of the stage at 75% brightness and another red spotlight focusing on the right side of the stage at 50% brightness, and at the same time Tybalt and his cronies will enter from the left side of the stage, so as Benvolio sees them he will look with self control at Mercutio and whisper him “By my head, here come the Capulets.” But Mercutio will cross his legs and loudly shout “by my heal I car not” and this will make Mercutio appear as a brave man and this will enhance the audience’s attention to watch what will happen. However I have chosen these lightings because red and orange will help to show danger and engage the audience’s attention.
Then Tybalt will go to the right side of the stage arrogantly and to spit on the floor as he looks at Mercutio and Benvolio saying “Gentlemen, good den: a word with one of you.” Now the audience will think that Tybalt is a powerful character as he seems careless to the presence of other characters. However as all the characters reach the right side of the stage, the orange lighting will fade out leaving only the 50% red spotlight on the right side.
Immediately after that Mercutio will give Benvolio a wink before looking irritatingly at Tybalt saying “And but one word with one of us? Couple it with something; make it a word and a
