the face of the creature.
He uses the phrase "mingled with this horror" to describe Frankenstien. This is a very emotive quote.
Mary shelly uses a pathetic fallacy technique, this is were she uses the weather to reflect on how Frankenstien is feeling. Victor says "Black and comfortless sky" This shows that victor is feeling sorry for himself and he is in a bad miserable mood.
Frankenstien is always looking over his shoulder because he is scared that the creature will just turn up. "Irregular steps, not daring to look about me".
Victor dictates a rhyme from the ancient mariner. The rhyme is very emotive. It has emotive words in it like "fear" and "dread". The poem also has alliteration in it "frightful fiend".
"I grasped his hand, and in a moment forgot my horroa and misfortune". This shows that Frankenstien is feeling sorry for himself and he is using clerval as and excuse to forget about the creature. He is being selfish because he is only using clerval he wouldnt of spoke to him if he never had the creature problem.
"I hope, i sincererly hope, that all these employmentsare now at an end, and that i am at length frre". Frankenstien just wants to be free of the crteature. He doesnt want to take any responsibility for it.
"I had left my apartment". This shows that Frankenstien is a coward he wont go back to his apartment because he is too scared that the creature will still be there. He thinks the creature wants to kill him because he abandoned it.
Victor called the creature "The enemy" The creature has done nothink wrong. He has done nothing to hurt Frankenstien. The main reason i think he calls him the enemy is because he is scared of the creature.
"Hideous guest" Frankenstien calls the creature his guest even though he doesnt know him. When Victor enters the apartment the creature has gone but he is still scared because he doesnt know where the creature has gone it could be anywhere now so this once again builds up fear. He is glad to be rid of it but it could be causing trouble and bring the blame back to Victor.
"During all that time Henry was my only nurse" Frankenstien is a selfish person he uses clerval to get sympathy from and to get looked after. Clerval (Frankenstiens Best Mate) is a selfless person. Clerval looks after Frankenstien while he
