In what ways do poets express different attitudes to the world of nature?

Powerful ways of expressing feelings and ideas is the way a poet expresses. In this essay I will explain the different poets about their attitude about nature. The first poet I am going to look at is Jon stallworthy in his poem he talks about how these two boys feel guilty killing the squirrel, Which then made them run out the forest. Then in fact nature has won the battle. I no this because in the poem where nature has won, quotes;

The larches closed their ranks and when…

Suggests that the trees are closing in on the boys. So they will have to hurry to get out.

Earth would not muffle…
And:
We like dishonoured soldiers ran the gauntlet of the darkening wood...

Explains how nature has won because the boys have run out, in shock in killing the little squirrel.

Jon stallworthy makes you think of how scary the woods can be from the tinniest squirrel made two boys feel guilty for what they have done and that one creature has scared these two boys for life.

Alan Brownjohn has a completely different view about nature, then Jon stallworthy has. Alan Brownjohns idea towards nature is that humankind has completely whipped out apart from this one rabbit on one patch of grass in one place. However humankind still takes advantage that this one rabbit is still here.
Alan Brownjohn is concerned the way humans have made buildings and roads where natures use to be. In this poem we are going to see the rabbit, explains near the end how the rabbit has burrowed so the humans have to go home.

First we shall go by escalator
Then we shall go by underground
And then we shall go by motorway
And then by helicopterway…

This suggests that how much power humans have over nature.

And:
And the last ten yards we shall have to go
On foot.

Meaning how lazy the humans is. Moaning about walking the last 10 yards. When they get there the rabbit has burrowed.

Yes the rabbit has gone
He has actually burrowed into the earth.

This is how nature has won, as there is no show for the humans.

You must be disappointed…

The way the rabbit is getting revenge from not giving the humans a show, and laughing to himself, as the humans have to go back home.

Ted Hughes has a different view to nature towards the pike, than Alan Brownjohn
