He of course became a dictator, this caused question as to how good he actually good at being leader. For instance when the five-year plans came into place many people were being badly treated an overworked. He changed most of what Russia was like; he brought Russia up to the same positions as other European countries. He sent 17,000,000 rural people to live in the cities; this strengthened the economy and the communist power in cities. Stalin introduced a thing called the five-year plans they were a huge cause of all his achievements.
Stalin was sometimes seen as the saviour of Russia, one of the ways he did this was that he helped the economy get back on track. For five years there was large-scale industrialisation an urbanisation. This meant there was also a greater production of food. Farmers became more collective and worked together. The revolution was strengthened as well as the Russia nationalism would strengthen and its standing in the powers of the world would rise. Russia was still no were near as strong as other European powers at 1920 as the industry was still not strong enough, this is why the five year plans came into being. Also Stalin thought and told everyone there was an impending attack on communism so he wanted Russia to be as strong as possible. Stalin stated that in 10 years Russia must complete 50-100 years of revolutionary work. This was helped on when Hitler came into power. Hitler capitalist speeches and digs against communism caused a huge surge in work as many wanted Russia to be able to defend itself.
Stalin started off by introducing a thing called collectivisation. This is when all the farmers and food producers for communities were they all work together on one large estate. No farmers owned their own land any more and they all supported each other. Also each farmer had there own job in the estate so that Russia could get the best out of each person, this would mean the skilled arable farmers would farmers would farm crops and the skilled pastoral farmers would farm animals. This meant that all the work was supported by a lot of food. Which was needed because of all the work going on. The
