From this coursework project, if I could tell the people which are looking to have driving lessons I would say that they should have instructor A, and if the tests went by the standard pass mark which is under 15 mistakes, to have XXX hours of lessons.
Appendix
Standard deviation:
The standard deviation is a measure of how much the data varies from the mean. Its the average deviation from the mean. A data sample with a large standard deviation will have big differences from the average; the data is very spread out. And so a data set with a small standard deviation will mean that all the data was close to the average.
Inverse proportion:
If something is inversely proportional to something else, then as it increases the other thing decreases. In this case as the number of lessons increase, the number of minor mistakes decrease.
Correlation coefficient:
The correlation coefficient is a number between -1 and 1. If the variables are related in a positive linear way they would have a correlation coefficient of 1 and if one variable went down as the other went up they would have a correlation coefficient of -1 (negative correlation). A correlation coefficient of 0 would mean that there is no relationship between the variables. It can be shown by r.
