of adultery begins with covetousness and desire which at first begins in the mind, and when entertained gives birth to the deed itself. In obeying the command to not covet, one is allowing themselves to be directed by Godly ways. That is why the command ‘You shall have no other gods before me’ is so important too. God is central to the Ten Commandments. He commands faithfulness because He is faithful. He commands His creation to not bear false witness as God is the God of Truth. Some would say ‘Which God?’ to that would be the reply ‘I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery’. Then perhaps children will be socialised in a more acceptable manner which will be passed on to the next generation. Thus, this commandment shall not be removed as it is relevant in today’s modern world.

Remembering that God is central to all the above commandments, it is therefore
