which is joining a public service and making a difference in my community because with out good communication skills I would lack self confidence and will not be able to perform some of the tasks that are required for the public services e.g. speaking over the radio, and providing evidence in court ect.
Communication skills can become a disadvantage if it is used in a wrong way an example of this is over friendly body language. If you approach is too friendly towards some people, the person can feel you are being intrusive as they don’t know you, or you can give off the wrong impression and the person expects more off you. Ways of telling when somebody doesn’t want to talk to you in when they answer in yes/ no answers with out being drawn into a conversation, if they are looking around you they are not particularly interested in the conversation or if they keep looking at their watch they are anxious to go as they have other things to do.

“Honesty is the best policy” is a well known saying. This in my opinion is true because people begin to trust you more and more and know exactly what kind of person you are. This is an important quality to being a leader because people only want to follow people they can trust. I am an honest person most of the time but it’s still something that I need to work on because I am not always a hundred percent honest as I don’t like hurting peoples feelings but I've learnt that lies always catch up on yourself and its best to be honest than to try and protect someone's feelings and then later on that person finds out and there feelings are even more hurt because lied to them.

I have shown that I have honesty when I was asked to be in charge of my college physical exercise lesson I was meant to take a warm up but I let the team just have a kick around. So when my tutor asked had I done the warm up I said no even though my team members defended me by saying I had. This meant we then took a warm up and
