It arises where generally unemployment is also a problem. Environmental problem is also interrelated with overpopulation. Forests are cut down for accommodation. This interrupts the environmental life cycle. This has made many animal and plant species to extinct (nationmaster, 2003). It is clear that uncontrolled population can have very depressive effect on many aspects of human welfare.

Facts and Figures
Secondly, there are some horrifying facts and figures of world population growing in an enormous rate. To understand the problem in real manner, some facts and figures are provided in this essay. In 1950, there were only 2.5 billion people on earth which was doubled in next 40 years and it is expected that the population will be about 7.6 billion in 2015. This means that world adds a billion every 11 years. This is because of advanced medical technologies which has made the birth rate high and the death rate very low (populationaction, 2007). In most industrialised countries, population continues to grow in two ways, either naturally or by immigration. Countries like United States of America, United Kingdom and Canada have the most population due to immigrants. Nonetheless, developing countries in Asia, Africa and South America produce more than 90 percent on the world population. However, the density of population is greatest in Asia. It is 282 persons per square mile whereas it is 60 and 62 persons per square mile in South America and Africa respectively. Now population momentum would remain a concern, even if in future a large population could live safely and sustainably in a balance with the resources in earth. But population momentum can be controlled significantly using policies that encourage women to delay childbearing (schoolofwisdom). This is because it stretches the time between the generations which make a lot of difference. In many countries women have less than two children on an average. This helps to slow down population growth but in developing countries, the fertility rate is 3.4 children per woman which is very high. So in order to stabilize world population, average birth rate should be 2 or less than two per woman (populationaction, 2007). So this facts and figures clearly show the state of world.
Controlling Population Growth
Thirdly, controlling the population is to be done by everyone and there are some ways which are elaborated in the paragraph. This problem is now so severe that the world nations need to follow
