What are dibs?
Each piece of approved coursework is worth three dibs. The submitter of the coursework gets one dib, the referrer of the person that submitted the coursework gets a dib and we get the remaining dib. At the end of each calendar month we work out how many dibs each of our members have and work this out as a percentage of the total dibs (i.e. for all the items of coursework in our database). The amount of earnings a member gets each month then is their percentage of dibs multiplied by our ad revenue for that month.
By way of an example:
Consider that, to date, you have submitted 7 pieces of coursework and referred 4 people that have each submitted 5 pieces of coursework… this means that you have a total of 27 dibs (i.e. 7 + 4 * 5). If we have 300 approved items of coursework in our database (i.e. worth a total of 900 dibs) then the percent of the total revenue you receive that month is 100 * 27 / 900 = 3%.
Unless you have coursework removed for contravening our policies your total dibs will never go down, only up as you and people you have referred submit more coursework. This means that you will enjoy ongoing income month by month without doing anything extra, if you want to be a bit proactive and refer others then this means your dibs will grow.
